Bourges to Versailles
It was an early morning start out of Bourges to beat the heat which worked a treat.  The ride on the secondary roads through the country side and little villages was really pleasant temperature wise and also just really pretty.  We had a great breakfast stop with coffee from one place and pastries from across the road.  I saw so many potential lotto houses it would be hard to choose if I ever did win millions :)

The Palace of Versailles is huge!  It is hard to comprehend such a lavish but at the same time regimented & public lifestyle. They even had people watching them eat for goodness sake!
Once again the weather spoilt things a little and we didn't spend as much time in the gardens as I had planned but it was just as well because it took hours to look around the palace not to mention the very looooong line to get in the place to start with.  Maurice loves lining up especially in the heat :(

Breakfast spots.

On the go.

I had to find a refreshing drink for the heat so I tried a beer with raspberry syrup, surprisingly yummy even though I'm not a beer drinker.

Entree.
First night in Versailles we walked across the road to the light plane airport.  This is one of the more unusual locations for dinner we have experienced,  right on the side of the runway.   The food was excellent, we are in France so expect nothing less.

As I said Maurice loves lines and this was just to get the ticket!

Taking security seriously.

After the ticket line then there is the line to get in.  Yes it is all one line.

Inside the Palace, some of the art and gardens.
