28th- 29th June 2015
Montblanc, Spain to Andorra la Vella, Andorra
The 28th June is our wedding anniversary so
there were big plans for the day. We had
booked a 5 star hotel in Andorra (no we didn't win lotto just got a bargain on
the web). We were looking forward to a
nice ride up into the Pyrennese; Andorra la Vella is the highest capital city
in Europe. I could even taste the
Champagne I was going to drink with our nice dinner. So everything went to plan until we headed
out for an afternoon drink, a beer for Maurice and a Gin & Tonic for
me. It is around about now that I should
mention that it was getting near 40 degrees. Also worth mentioning is that a
G&T in this part of the world consists of a huge glass with ice in it then
they pour (not measure) about 200ml of gin in and leave you a tiny bottle of
tonic, which you can barely fit any of into
the glass.
So what happened to the plan after that first drink? Well your’s truly got another migraine didn't she :( So that was the end of the day for me and it’s only about 4pm. So next day we had a redo anniversary
with lovely late breakfast then a walk
around all the duty free shops and a really nice dinner minus the champagne.
I don’t have a photo of our 5 star
room in Andorra but of course we have a photo of the bike parking!
The anniversary started okay with a couple drinks at biker friendly
bar, after all it is his anniversary as well :)
Views around Andorra.
I definitely need a side-car for my
next visit to Andorra, cheap as chips girls!!!
And finally we got to have a nice
anniversary dinner, yum!
