Todays GPS map

24th -25th  June 2015
Granada to Santa Pola
We headed to the East Coast of Spain and to the seaside town of Santa Pola.  We avoided the Toll-ways but are still travelling on the main roads which provided us with some spectacular scenery.  The mountains and the townships built into the side of them were great but I couldn't get any pictures that did them justice.  When we got closer to the coast we passed through large areas of palm nurseries. The weather is finally warm enough for us both to go into the water for a swim.

Unfortunately I was a bit hot and flustered so we stayed in the first hotel we came across which was a bit on the expensive side.  It all become worth it though when we realised we were on the beach side off the hotel and when I say on the beach I mean ON the beach.  SS Mk II had to stay on the street side right in front of the 24 hour reception desk.

SS Mk II cosy little spot in front of the hotel, the back of the hotel and the view from our balcony.  I love the view and the fact you get champagne with breakfast :)

Now that's something you don't see everyday.
Pictures from our first evenings stroll down the promenade.

Which brings us up to the current day and a couple of pictures from our walk to the post office.

No room left in the restaurant so they just put tables in the parking area on both sides of the street.

Octopus pots.

We have just got back from dinner and another short walk to the fish stalls where the fresh seafood is amazing and they all so have dried & preserved seafood of every kind, we love Spain.

One last thing especially for Dirk & Snuffy. Santa Pola has a lot of topless people on it’s beach which Maurice doesn't mind at all and I am becoming a bit of a fan myself.
