2015 05 01 Istanbul to Primorsko, Bulgaria

1st-2nd May

Istanbul to Primorsko, Bulgaria

After a drive through a little bit of traffic we made it out of the main part of Istanbul and on to the free-way.

Once we were off the free-way we encountered road hazards of a various types. Some made us more nervous than others.

 Oh no not sheep!

If you haven't guessed already, I got a new camera while we were in Istanbul so now you have to put up with my on the go photo's again :)

So we said goodbye to Turkey and crossed into Bulgaria with out to much fuss.  Three or four times we had to show our passports, rego and green cards for the bike and we were through.

On to a new country which means a new language, new money and new traffic hazards, including the roads themselves.

"Hey Maurice any idea where we are?"

"Nope no idea"

After a lot of pot-hole dodging we reached Primorsko.  It is a summer seaside town that is currently in the throws of preparing for it's peak season.  There are hundreds of motels but most are still  closed, we managed to find a really good one that is open all year.  The majority of shops are also still closed and will be until the end of the month.  The beaches are deserted but there is a
lot of construction going on in town.
The White on the Black (sea)

What the ....?

We think it says "Horny Fish"

Sheep shunter II tucked away.

Getting slightly smashed with our very hospitable hotel owner, Ivan

A bunker from days gone by.

Still closed up for now.

Maurice named his first boat after this guy (Jacques Cousteau)
